Piwacket "Create-A-Play" Workshops and Theatre Camps provide children with the opportunity to explore their creative sides and express the inner artist that exists within us all.

Children join Producing Director, Edie Avioli as she takes them through thecreative process. Along the way the group learns to work as a team to complete their common goal, a musical performance, filled with songs, dances, costumes and sets.

Piwacket offers a variety of workshops for elementary and middle school children designed to enhance existing curriculum. Producing Director, Edie Avioli will work with educators to create and present a production of:

    Lewis & Clark Go West
A 45 minute musical performance highlighting the history of Lewis & Clark, the saga of the pioneers and Native Americans and the invention of the Railroad.

    Meet Me in Missouri
A 45 minute musical performance about the Worlds Fair, Charles Lindbergh, WWII and famous Modern Day Missourians.

Native American Myths and Legends

Aa 45 minute musical performance introducing myths and legends from North American tribes representing the Pacific Northwest, the Southwest, the Plains and the Forests.

    Voices From a Child
A collaborative performance piece created from the original writings of the students.

• All workshops are designed for up to 50 participants and include choreographed song and dance numbers, a script for each participant, one director and one assistant.

Summer Create A Play 2006

Sessions held in July and August!

Your child will join us for a fun-filled journey to create a play. We will pick a story, write a script, gather props, costumes, make a set, learn choreographed dance numbers and perform our creation on the final day of class. Your child will enjoy theater games, improvisation, set designing, and arts and crafts. A snack and juice are provided. Children must bring their lunch. A final performance for parents & invited guests is held at the end of each session.

Time 9 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
One Week Sessions
Monday - Friday
Ages: 6-14

Each session a new play will be created.
